Please join our team and WALK with us to End Hydrocephalus!  This event is very dear to our hearts as we are walking on behalf of our daughter Jordan and the constant fear that her shunt could fail at any moment. As you may know, hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure as its consistent failures lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more; Jordan has had 19 brain surgeries as a result of this condition. We live with the realization that her shunt could fail at any time, without notice.  This is unacceptable and this is WHY WE WALK. Please join our team, donate and help us reach our goal.
