Out of the 29 surgeries Kai and Ryder have had 18 have been hydrocephalus related. Ryder has had 17 of those surgeries and has had two VP shunts to manage his hydrocephalus. He had his 17th surgery in January of 2018. Before, during, and after these surgeries hydrocephalus has impacted his quality of life drastically. We have lost count of the ER visits, the hospital stays, CT scans, MRIs, x-rays, and the headaches and vomiting that come with having hydrocephalus. Even now with him being “good” the fear, anxiety, and worry that takes over when he does get a headache and gets sick is heartbreaking. We cannot tell him he will never have surgery again. Nor can we tell Kai he will never have to have another brain surgery. The chances are they will. We will do anything to make the treatment for hydrocephalus better. Therefore, we will walk to raise money and awareness for hydrocephalus research, education, advocacy, and community support networks.

Thank you!
