St. Louis WALK to End Hydrocephalus

Team Eli

Welcome to Team Eli's Page!

Join us as WE WALK to raise awareness and funding for the lifelong, life-altering condition of hydrocephalus! As you may know, hydrocephalus is a condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure as many patients endure multiple brain surgeries throughout their lifetime, some more than 100.  This is unacceptable and this is WHY WE WALK.  Eli has had a total of five brain surgeries so far, and while we are thankful for the medical interventions that we've received... we can DO BETTER!  If you are able, donate and help us reach our goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping to improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.

Thank you!!
