Keep The Pressure On To Stop Proposed Geese Kill In The Village Of Mamaroneck, New York
Westchester County, New York residents only - please use the form at the bottom of this page to send your comments
Over 300 of our supporters in Westchester County signed our first alert two weeks ago to tell Mamaroneck's Mayor Norm Rosenblum to keep their community Canada geese alive. Yet Mayor Rosenblum callously insists that the geese and their families have to die.
Why is Mayor Rosenblum not listening to the people in his community he is supposed to serve, many of whom welcome the geese, and do not want the geese to be killed in brutal ways, and who support employing existing nonlethal and humane methods to live with geese? His unpopular plan is not even supported by all members of the village's board of trustees.
Please speak up for Mamaroneck's Canada Geese one more time!
Whether or not you wrote previously, please use the form below to send comments to Mayor Rosenblum and other officials. We will not give up our fight to keep the geese alive!
Tell them that killing geese is never the answer. Geese repopulate the areas where they've been removed, locking communities into an endless, ineffective, and brutal costly killing cycle. Nonlethal and humane methods exist, including a method employed by "geesebusters," who use a powered glider in the shape of an eagle that also emits a whistling sound. The geese learn to associate both with the presence of a predator and they will give up their territory.
