California Residents – Please Help IDA Fight The Ag Gag Bill! Please use the form below to submit your comments before April 17 when the bill is scheduled to be heard
An "Ag Gag" bill attempts to prevent filming of cruelty to animals on factory farms or in slaughterhouses. AB 343 is California's state version. This bill would severely limit whistleblowers' abilities to expose the horrific treatment of animals at these facilities by requiring this material to be turned over to legal authorities within 48 hours. If "big ag" is not responsible for any wrongdoings and has nothing to hide, why are they so afraid of whistleblowers?
AB 343, California's Ag Gag bill, is scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, April 17. Please send a message to Assembly Members Jim Patterson and Susan Eggman to tell them that you strongly oppose the Ag Gag bill. Without the evidence that undercover video provides, the worst abuses committed by the factory farming industry would go unseen and unpunished. AB 343 is a clear attempt by animal agriculture interests, such as the Cattlemen's Association, to suppress exposure of severe animal abuse.
