JUSTICE FOR GIGGLES, THE FAWNAsk Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to Fire Officials Who Killed Giggles
(Valid U.S. address is required - P.O. Boxes cannot be used)
In August, our supporters in Wisconsin answered our alert to contact their Governor Scott Walker to officially reprimand the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials who raided the Society of St. Francis Animal Shelter in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and seized Giggles, the little innocent fawn. Click here for our past alert on Giggles’ death.
Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) response obtained by IDA, we now know how Giggles was killed—they shot a metal bolt gun, generally used in slaughterhouses, through that little deer’s head.
In their official statement, the DNR states, "... warden staff had the difficult and emotional job of removing a fawn..." and "None of our staff take joy in these situations", yet their own records reveal that officials were "looking forward to the event!!" In emails, they expressed their excitement with "smiley face" emoticons. Click here for a sample of records we obtained.
After killing Giggles, they congratulated themselves for their professionalism and for a "job well done."
We do not pay wildlife officials to kill baby animals.
Governor Scott Walker has not acted, and there have been no consequences for the officials involved in this brutal killing of Giggles, a little innocent, defenseless and terrified fawn. Demand that Wisconsin DNR's Secretary, Cathy Stepp, and other officials involved in the killing of Giggles be removed.
Please use the form below to send a letter to Governor Scott Walker, and then follow-up with a call and let him know that we, the people, want justice for Giggles. Please demand the removal of Wisconsin DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp, along with all others involved in Giggles' death. Feel free to send a letter by U.S. postal mail as well.
