Don't let Farmers Mutilate Animals Without Pain Relief

Animal agriculture industries are finding cunning new ways to block animal protection laws like the banning of tiny cages and body mutilations. One of their key strategies is trying to block new animal protection laws by amending existing "Right to Farm" laws in all 50 U.S. states.

This is exactly what is happening right now in West Virginia with the introduction of Senate Joint Resolution 3. This newly proposed Right to Farm law amendment would "forever guarantee traditional and modern farming practices." These mild words hide harsh farming abuses including extreme confinement of animals in dirty warehouses for their entire lives, and cruel live body mutilations such as debeaking and castration without pain relief. We must speak up for animals and stop this sly amendment from passing!

What you can do:

1. Call your two state senators between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm ET and politely ask them to oppose SJR3. Find the telephone numbers of your state senators by clicking on the link below, entering your zip code, and selecting the West Virginia tab.

You can simply say, "As your constituent, I urge you to oppose SJR3. This Right to Farm amendment has the power to guarantee that all current farming practices are allowed to continue indefinitely despite the fact that many are cruel to animals and damaging to public health and the environment. Industrial scale animal farms should be held accountable for their actions when they have such serious consequences on all of our society and the issues that we care about so deeply. Please do all in your power to oppose SJR3".

2. After your call, please sign our letter by filling out the fields on this page.

Personalize and submit the letter below to email your comments to:
