This Man Was Fired for Caring About Animals!

In January of 2018, animal activist Curtis Vollmar was fired from his job for sending an email to his co-workers encouraging compassion for animals. Sign our letter to protest discrimination on all levels and support a fellow activist!

Curtis worked at RunSignUp, a website that allows runners to organize races. He shared a message to staff opposing discrimination against animals based on their species and encouraging them to try a vegan diet.

Vegans are rising to the top of the running scene, smashing records for marathon, ultramarathon, triathlon, sprinting, and track.

But neither the prominence of plant-based athletes in the running world, nor Curtis' positive work record prevented RunSignUp CEO, Bob Bickel from firing Curtis the same day. Curtis was told that he didn't fit into the "company culture" and was told to go work in a vegan restaurant.

Although the Civil Rights Act outlaws discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin, or religion, it does not protect us from discrimination against our ethics. Curtis turned down $20,000 in severance in exchange for his silence on this matter so he can fight this injustice to animals and the persecution of those who speak out on their behalf.

In Defense of AnimalsProminent animal activists including Jane Velez-Mitchell, Nelufar Hedayat, James Aspey, Earthling Ed, Klaus of Plant Based News, Wayne Hsiung, Paul Bashir of Anonymous for the Voiceless, and VeganEvan have all spoken in his defense.

Animal activists should not have to fear being fired or persecuted for expressing their compassion for animals. Let's stand with Curtis to promote our civil liberties and stop vegan discrimination!
