Ask Jimmy John's to Support Animal-Friendly Diets, Not Animal Abuse!

Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches chain recently released its Hunter's Club Sandwich which is stuffed with the body parts of cows who have been systematically and cruelly exploited, then brutally murdered. The sandwich chain has a history of supporting animal abuse, and its owner is an avid trophy hunter as well. Please join us in urging Jimmy John's to swap out its new sandwich for a plant-based sandwich to keep up with its more evolved competitors.

In the past several weeks, the founder and majority owner of Jimmy John's came under fire after photos of his trophy hunting excursions went viral. The images show Jimmy John Liautaud giving an enthusiastic thumbs up next to an elephant's bloody carcass as well as proudly hoisting up a dead leopard. The franchise chain owner has also slaughtered many other animals, including endangered rhinos, sharks, and bears. Despite this abhorrent record, we believe Jimmy John's can change. We urge the company to turn a new page and start encouraging respect for animals by releasing a vegan menu option.

Offering plant-based options isn't just the right thing to do, but is also a wise business decision. The plant-based food market is booming with vegan meat sales jumping by 24 percent in 2018, while animal flesh purchases only rose two percent. Multiple restaurant chains, such as Burger King, Carl's Jr, and Red Robin, have successfully released plant-based dishes or initiated tests that were quickly expanded due to positive customer feedback.

What YOU Can Do — TODAY:

We hope Jimmy John's will meet the growing demand for plant-based foods, and realize that all animals, whether they are factory farmed animals or endangered wildlife, want to live out their lives happily and at peace and are deserving of respect.

Please join us in urging Jimmy John's to replace its Hunter's Club Sandwich with a plant-based option called "My Vegan Hero."

1) Phone Jimmy John's at 866-276-6302. Calling is one of the most effective actions you can take for animals. Companies may be able to filter or ignore emailed letters, but they can't avoid phone calls as easily.

Here's an example of what you can say:

Hi, my name is _____, and I'm urging Jimmy John's to replace its Hunter's Club Sandwich with a plant-based sandwich. Using plant-based options will not only save animals from living pain and horror-filled lives, but it's also a wise business decision since the plant-based food market's value is growing exponentially.

2) We can all help compel companies to treat animals humanely by eating a plant-based diet ourselves. If you're not already there, learn how to begin by downloading our free vegan starter guide today:

3) After you call, please send our follow-up letter to Jimmy John's Director of Franchise Development, Director of Communications, Vice President of Franchise Operations, and Chief Financial Officer by filling out the form on this page.
