A Call To Action For Canada Geese

IDA's Barbara Stagno addresses geese rally

IDA's Barbara Stagno addresses New York
activists and legislators in defense of geese

Canada geese are under assault from the USDA through contracts arranged with many American cities and communities. In New York state alone, a drastic plan has been put in place to kill 165,000 geese, reducing their numbers from 250,000 to only 85,000.

In New York City, where anti-geese sentiment has increased ever since the collision of a US Airways flight with a flock of Canada geese in 2009 received national attention, over 2,800 geese have been killed, and the killings are planned to continue.

Nationally, USDA's plan is to kill more than 450,000 geese. IDA is on the frontlines, leading the battle to stop the killing, and we need your help!

We are committed to ending these mass killings of innocent Canada geese. Please give as generously as you can so we can continue this fight.

USDA Assault on Canada Geese

The culling program includes round-ups of entire flocks across the U.S. The slaughter is conducted after adult geese have molted their flight feathers, their goslings have hatched, and the human community is asleep. Away from the public eye, the USDA corrals the helpless geese and their young into small pens, uses plastic zip-ties to bind their feet together, and then shoves them into mobile gas chambers to be killed slowly and painfully, or sends them elsewhere for slaughter.

You can stop this! Please donate to our campaign to save Canada geese.

Thank you so much, for helping IDA Give Geese A Chance!

For the animals,
