Sponsor “Birmingham Bombing and Beyond: Living a Life of Love after Hate” to support Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston and bring Lisa McNair's important messages to Greater Houston!

IMpower, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s women’s initiative, is excited to host Lisa McNair, author, public speaker, civil rights leader, bridgebuilder, and the oldest living sister of Denise McNair, one of the four little girls killed in the infamous 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.  Denise was an only child at the time of her death.  Almost exactly one year from the day she was murdered, Lisa was born. From the moment she was born, Lisa was tied to Birmingham’s history, and today in her book “Dear Denise:  Letters to a Sister I Never Knew” she recounts her journey as Denise’s sister, and her family’s legacy to foster forgiveness, understanding, reconciliation, and unity, especially after being a part of such a heinous act of hate.  Lisa’s book was published in 2022, and today she travels across the country to ensure her family’s story is not forgotten and to promote love, understanding, and peace.

Here is a 4-minute video that will give you a glimpse of her story.
