FY17 Evening at Pops John Williams

FY17 Evening at Pops ET

Friday, May 12, 2017
Symphony Hall, Boston
6:00 p.m. VIP Reception
8:00 p.m. Concert

Join us for a special evening with the Boston POPs and Keith Lockhart for "E.T. in Concert."  This year, the Boston POPs is celebrating and honoring Conductor John Williams.  John Williams is a living legend and a Boston POPs Laureate Conductor.

Relive the magic of Steven Spielberg's great family adventure, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, a best picture nominee and one of the most popular films of all time. John Williams' Academy Award-winning score will be performed live by the Boston POPs while the movie plays on the big screen.

This year Joslin will present the Frank and Jean Ring Memorial Award in the Fight Against Diabetes to Joslin Pediatrics Patient, Barron Clancy. We are inspired by Barron's dedication to music and his dreams of working in the symphony. Barron loves to compose music and most recently, one of his pieces for string orchestra was chosen to play at the New England Conservatory Prep Young Composers Festival.  Our Pediatrics department instills in our patients that diabetes should not prevent them from reaching their goals. Barron is a perfect example of a patient who is not letting diabetes stop him from dreaming big!
