CAN I DONATE A PORTION OR PERCENT OF SALES OR PROCEEDS?

Basing a donation on the sale of a product or service, commonly known as cause-related marketing, is highly regulated. When a business communicates to the consumer that a purchase will induce a donation to a specific charity, it triggers commercial co-venture (CCV) laws that typically vary from state-to-state, and compliance requires significant resources on the part of both the supporting company and the benefitting charity. It is therefore very important to refrain from messaging to customers that you are donating based on their purchase of your products, whether it is a percentage of the sales price or a flat donation for each sale. We encourage our small business supporters to say something along the lines of, "...we are proud to support K9s For Warriors through regular donations." We would gladly assist in crafting appropriate language.

CAN I USE THE K9S FOR WARRIORS LOGO TO PROMOTE MY AFFILIATION?

Use of the K9s For Warriors master mark is reserved for national corporate partners that commit to an established minimum level of annual support. However, once your business registration is approved, you will be permitted to use our Proud Supporter Logo on any of your marketing materials. Note: All use of the Proud Supporter Logo must be approved in advance.

CAN YOU SEND ME MARKETING MATERIALS, POSTERS, ETC.?

K9s For Warriors strives to steward donor support responsibly and to ensure that gifts go where intended: directly into our life-saving program. When your registration is approved you will receive access to a promotional toolkit that contains a variety of resources to help you promote your support of K9s For Warriors, including our Proud Supporter Logo, photos, flyer template, press release template and our general information brochure that you can download, print and distribute. The toolkit also includes links to order K9s For Warriors promotional items in bulk at a discounted rate.

CAN A K9S FOR WARRIORS STAFF MEMBER, WARRIOR, OR DOG PARTICIPATE IN AN EVENT AT MY BUSINESS?

K9s For Warriors and all our graduates are incredibly grateful for our hard-working supporters who help raise funds and awareness for our life-saving program. We would very much like to participate in events with all our supporters, but unfortunately that is not possible. With a small staff and our sole location in Ponte Vedra, Florida, we simply do not have the bandwidth to visit all business supporters. However, we will evaluate all requests for attendance at fundraising events for our business supporters on a case-by-case basis and participate when schedules permit.  We would also encourage you to promote the impact of your support by sharing our compelling videos found on our website or YouTube channel.

CAN I USE K9S FOR WARRIORS’ SALES TAX EXEMPTION TO PURCHASE MATERIALS FOR FUNDRAISING?

Business supporters or third-party events are not permitted to use our sales tax exemption.

CAN I USE K9S FOR WARRIORS’ 501(c)(3) FEDERAL TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER?

Third-party fundraisers or events are prohibited from using our tax identification number. Donations made directly to K9s For Warriors as part of a business supporter's fundraising efforts will receive tax receipts.

CAN K9S FOR WARRIORS PROVIDE TAX RECEIPTS FOR MY FUNDRAISING EXPENSES?

IRS Regulations do not permit us to issue tax receipts for expenses incurred by our business supporters in their fundraising efforts. Moreover, if your business is not structured as a 501(c)(3) organization, please do not promise a charitable tax receipt to your supporters.
