Folk Legends: Isn't This A Time!
"Isn’t This A Time!" stars Peter, Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie and The Weavers at Carnegie Hall in the last of a series of annual concerts that started in 1955 when The Weavers performed there in defiance of the blacklist and ended with this concert in 2004. Some music historians attribute the start of the modern folk revival with that first historic concert in 1955. Isn’t This a Time! is also the last concert produced by Harold Leventhal who managed or promoted all of the participants.
The performances were strong and emotional and in many ways it was the last great gathering of these legendary artists who defined folk music and inspired and entertained at least three generations of fans. The artist themselves considered their performances at this last historic concert among their best.
