Call on Your Representatives and Congressional Leaders to Protect Dreamers and Support the Dream Act of 2017.

Stand For Welcome

On September 5th the Trump Administration rescinded the DACA program. Hundreds of thousands of young Americans need your voice!

We are asking each of you to take few minutes to call your Senators and Representative and tell them you support compassionate policies that welcome those seeking refuge and urge them to pressure Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McConnell to speak out in support of the Dream Act of 2017.

Policies such as the SUCCEED Act (S. 1852), which would require DREAMers to wait 15 years before applying for citizenship and undermines due process should not be seen as viable solutions for DREAMers.

You can easily call your members of Congress by calling the U.S Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate or House office you request. If you do not know the name of your Senators and/or Representatives, you can visit the official Senate and House websites to find out or fill out the form below.

Please take a few minutes and tell your elected officials to protect the rights of hundreds of thousands of Dreamers who have built their lives in America.

You can use this as a sample message to give during your call:

Hello, I’m [your name] from [your city, state], and I’m calling to add my voice to the thousands of people across the country who care about helping vulnerable migrant youth who have contributed to our communities, our economy, and our universities. As a person of faith, I am very concerned about the lack of protection and legal rights these youth will have once DACA disappears.

I am also concerned about the elimination of other programs that offer protection to vulnerable migrants, such as Temporary Protective Status (TPS). This program should be kept in place until a long-term solution can be found. Otherwise TPS holders will soon be in the same dangerous position as DREAMers.

I am calling to ask [your Senator/Representative] to fully support the Dream Act of 2017 to ensure that protections for these vulnerable youth and valuable members of our society are not rolled back.

And I ask that [your Senator/Representative] let Majority Leader McConnell/Speaker Ryan know that he or she does not support ending DACA and leaving thousands of families and youth without any sort of protection or means to create a better life for themselves and their families. Our country can do better than this. It is against my values and does not represent what it means to be an American or a person of faith.

Again, I encourage [your Senator/Representative] to stand with Dreamers and create long-term legislative solutions for these vulnerable migrants. Thank you.

And, of course, feel free to add in your own words as you advocate for this crucial piece of legislation!
