URGENT: Take Action Now!

Stand For Welcome

Refugees need your voice!

At a time when many may be wondering if America is going to abandon them, it is your voice - and that of thousands of others who have already expressed their support for refugees and their families - that is going to make a difference.

Tell Congress and the Administration to resettle at least 75,000 refugees in Fiscal Year 2018, and keep the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration within the U.S. State Department.

Please take a few minutes and tell your elected officials to support a strong refugee resettlement program in the new fiscal year.

You can use this as a sample message to give during your call:

I am your constituent from [City, State], and I support offering protection in the U.S. to those vulnerable refugees in need around the world. I urge [insert Member of Congress name] to speak out in favor of refugees and request that the President allow at least 75,000 refugees to come to the U.S. during Fiscal Year 2018.

Further, I ask that [insert Member of Congress name] publically support the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration staying within the U.S. State Department. The State Department and PRM are integral in the U.S. Government’s efforts to promote U.S. economic, humanitarian, and foreign policy interests – and our country is a world leader in offering protection and safety to refugees because of the diplomats at PRM. With nearly 65 million people displaced worldwide, I believe the United States must continue to be a global leader for refugee resettlement and humanitarian service both domestically and throughout the world.”

And, of course, feel free to add in your own words as you advocate for this important work!
