“I am your constituent from [City, State], and I urge you to protect the refugee resettlement program from another drastic cut by the administration. The administration is considering setting the admissions ceiling for next year at ZERO.

By law, the administration must consult with Congress prior to setting the refugee admissions ceiling, which means that as a member of Congress, you are uniquely poised to ensure that the administration fulfillts its legal obligation ahead of its determination on refugee admissions.

Setting the admissions ceiling so low would decimate the bipartisan refugee resettlement program and seriously damage our nation's reputation as the leader of the free world. This is not the American way.

Please do everything in your power to see that the administration commits to resettling the historic average throughout the history of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program -- 95,000.

My community welcomes refugees, and I urge you to reflect the best of our nation by supporting resettlement in the United States."
