The Ileane Mindel Support Group Fund
Since joining the Foundation in 1995, Ileane Mindel has helped develop our one-of-a-kind Support Group program and it remains her passion to ensure no question goes unanswered and no need is unmet. The Ileane Mindel Support Group Fund will ensure that the Les Turner ALS Foundation’s free, comprehensive support group program continues its irreplaceable work, providing ongoing disease education and addressing specific concerns for people with ALS and their families. Led by experienced, professional support group facilitators, our support groups provide social service counsel and intervention to improve communication and assist in conflict resolution.
Currently, we offer four support groups per month, all around the Chicagoland area, providing a forum for those who are newly diagnosed as well as people who have had ALS for many years, and their loved ones. The support groups are a valuable resource to share ideas and help those with ALS confidently navigate the disease. Over 500 members of the Les Turner ALS family attend our support groups each year, but we know the need is great. Your contribution can ensure our support group programs continue to meet the ongoing needs of our families struggling with ALS.
