LIFT THE STIGMA. LIFT LIVES.
Step up against the stigma of mental health!
On May 3rd, 2020 let's take another big step towards ending the stigma associated with mental health.
Steps for Kids 2020 goes virtual!
While COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) is cancelling many events, it won’t cancel Steps for Kids!
With the current situation, we cannot hold a physical event while still reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and keeping our youth, staff and hundreds of community friends safe.
During Children’s Mental Health Week (May 3-9), we'll do a walk, whether it's a on a treadmill or a neighbourhood street!
Since one out of every five young people in Waterloo Region experiences a mental-health issue, you know someone who is struggling. Some get help and are able to find hope, but because of stigma, far too many youth suffer alone. It doesn’t have to be this way. You can help.
Join us as we inspire real conversations, raise awareness of this important issue, lift the stigma around mental health and raise funds to make sure support is available to children and youth in Waterloo Region!
Together we can make sure that kids get help when they need it.
Together, we can lift the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Together, let’s STEP UP for kids!
The money we raise supports specialized programs and activities not covered by government funding - things such as music and art therapy, recreational programing, support for kids transitioning back into their community schools and Safe Haven's shelter for youth. We know we make a difference because kids like this former Safe Haven client tell us we do: https://youtu.be/SYDesCNYpAQ.
All donations of $10 or more will receive an instant tax receipt.
Thank you for supporting kids!
