Thanks to research, my son, Owen, got a second chance at life. He was diagnosed with MDS with Monosomy 7—a rare blood disease most common in adults over 60. Although his transplant was a success, there were complications that made him very sick.
But Owen remained playful and happy. We started calling him “Super Owen” because of his inspiring will and courage. Now cured, Owen is a first grader who loves to wear capes. I couldn’t be more grateful that my super hero defeated the “bad guys”— the bad blood cells.
