Walk+Run To Go events need to be approved by Be The Match. Then the fun can begin!
We require volunteers to submit a budget and marketing plan to better understand your event plans. Be The Match can help cover minimal expenses attached to your event. We require expenses to be kept at 25% or lower. We want events to net $5,000 or higher in revenue after expenses through a combination of registrations fees, team and participant fundraising and sponsorships. We have tips and tools to help you accomplish these goals.
Be The Match has fundraising experts that will set up regular check-in calls with you along the way and are only an email away for questions as they pop up. We have fundraising resources and marketing templates to assist your event planning. Check out some of them right now!
All approved events will receive a website for marketing, registration, and fundraising. We ship a start and finish banner, Be The Match white t-shirts, and numbered bibs for registered participants.
Fill out your information in “Contact Us” and we will reach out to talk about having a great event!
Student leaders formed a volunteer committee at the University of Nevada Las Vegas to plan a fun run to engage college students and the general public to support Be The Match. They worked to recruit teams from campus groups, patient families, local companies, and organizations. They secured media attention leading up to the event and garnered support from the local business community. The committee worked diligently to keep expenses low by getting most event items donated. The event brought together 200 participants and raised more than $10,000 for patients in need of a life-saving transplant!
The community of Leesburg, VA hosted a 5k in memory of a young man. Mathias was a strong warrior whose spirit and courage inspired many. He lost his battle to Osteosarcoma, but never stopped fighting and wanted to raise awareness of Be The Match and the possibilities a bone marrow match might have for other childhood cancer patients. This event had over 400 participants, the support of 12 corporate sponsors, the whole community coming together to honor Mathias, and raised more than $23,000 for Be The Match!
