This week will offer us the opportunity to learn the basic tools of mindfulness. We will explore how these tools can help us move into deeper centeredness. This will enable us to be open to the awareness of God in our midst and inspire us to continue the work of justice.

Resource Persons: Gail J. Stearns, M.Div., PhD, is a spiritual leader and educator committed to helping people achieve greater compassion and deepen spirituality in their lives. She teaches mindfulness as a dynamic tool for lessening anxiety and living with present awareness. Gail currently serves as the Dean of the Wallace All Faiths Chapel and is Associate Professor of Religious and Peace Studies at Chapman University in Orange, California. With a certification in Mindfulness Facilitation from UCLA and experience practicing meditation for over 30 years, she works with businesses, healthcare agencies, university students, and women’s groups an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA), Gail holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. from Washington State University.
