Big Jeff's Cancer Kicking Crew is national for the 5th year. It is made up of friends and family who want to make a difference in our fight against rare cancers. We all ride in memory of Jeffrey Friedlander, my father, who lost his battle with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in October 2014. His courage during his illness has inspired us to ride for Cycle for Survival. In addition to his courage, the nurses and caregivers at MSK were true angels that treated my father and our family like we were their family. Like most people, our team members have all been impacted by rare cancers on some level. We also ride for a special girl named Desi who lost her battle with neuroblastoma in March of 2016, and for our buddy Prestun who continued to fight the good fight for 5 years against neuroblastoma.
We have also lost some good friends in the past year and have other friends who continue their fight. This fuels me and my team.
100% of every dollar donated goes to the dedicated doctors at MSK to help find a cure for these rare cancers. Last year over $70,000 was raised for research for the Neuroblastoma Pediatric team, where Dr. Modak and his team continue to do amazing things and give families hope. Our team has raised over $200,000 in 4 years. My father loved his grandchildren so much and I know he would be proud of the work we are doing in his honor to make a difference in other people’s lives. Please join me in helping to find a cure for rare cancers.
Thank you to those who will join us in this ride. Thank you for donating to our riders in New York and New Jersey.
