I began riding in Cycle for Survival in 2011‒ just one year after I finished treatment for a rare cancer at MSKCC. We started the Cycling Psychos in 2012 in NY so that we could celebrate life with family and friends, and share this awesome experience with all these riders who know only too well- what a cancer diagnosis can mean but how your spirit and drive can motivate you to exceed what you think your limits could be.
In 2017‒ After reconnecting with my college roommate‒ Maxine‒ who is a cancer survivor herself and just lost the love of her life to stomach cancer‒ we started an LA team as well.
This is a special year for me ‒ and for Max as well. I just celebrated my 10 year survivor anniversary ‒ and am so excited and humbled to be a part of this amazing experience. Please consider riding with us in either NY or LA and if you can't ride‒ please donate to this inspiring cause and help make Cancer end in our lifetimes!!
With much thanks‒
Maxine and Hanita
