Don't Look Back... Look Where You're GAUXING
Thank you so much for visiting team GAUXFORWARD's page. Please join us by spinning, dancing and donating to this amazing cause in honor of Margaux Untracht who passed away March 16th, 2019. This past Cycle for Survival was her last where she shared her story:
“Hi I am Margaux Untracht. Thank you everyone who organized today.
A very long story short, I got diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 30 after finding a small lump on my left breast. I made a full recovery in March 2017 after having a double mastectomy, lymph nodes removed, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 25 rounds of radiation.
Then, on August 16th 2017, I found out my cancer returned and metastasized to my liver, bones and brain, meaning I now had Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer at 32 years old. Since then I have had countless chemotherapy sessions, lost my hair for a second time and have had liver failure twice. I have coined the term GAUXFORWARD, because I refuse to let cancer win and will do anything to keep pushing forward with all the energy I have and live my life as positively as I can. I was recently in the hospital for 17 days and I continue to battle this disease every day. I would never have been able to do any of this without the treatment and care of Sloan Kettering. That is why I chose to be a part of this event because all the proceeds go to the hospital that saved my life and keeps me going forward. Finally, I am thrilled to announce our fundraising total of $96,652!”
