Event Name: Team George Kolasa - Greenwich Ave Ride
Location: Equinox Greenwich Ave
In February 2022, my life changed forever. My husband George was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, the most aggressive type of brain cancer. Upon learning the diagnosis, without saying a word or reacting, his reply to the doctor was “God’s will not mine be done.” George thought he was chosen to have this disease, as he received a gift, to find a purpose and help others.
In what should have been the darkest time in our lives, we were filled with so much hope, light, gratitude, and love. As George said, we chose to focus on the living.
On August 9, 2023, after an eighteen month battle with Glioblastoma, George passed away peacefully at home. He left as he lived –surrounded by those he loved and in nature , and with me and Charlie, our dog, by his side. George’s brave decision and commitment to share his authentic story with the world inspired a movement of hope and forged a community of courage and gratitude – TEAM GEORGE KOLASA.
George’s journey and unwavering purpose to help others is his legacy. George’s mission to raise money and awareness to beat Glioblastoma and all rare cancers shall continue with my efforts.
Together, with Cycle For Survival and Memorial Sloan Kettering, let’s honor George’s memory by supporting Team George Kolasa today.
