After losing my mom to cancer in 2016, I've been on a quest to raise as much money as I possibly can to help build a cancer-free world. Due to some poor decision-making on my part (lol), the chosen vehicle for this quest has been a physically taxing 26.2 mile / 42.16481 kilometer foot race! On the plus side, the quest to date has been both deeply meaningful and an extraordinary success.
With your support, I've raised over $250,000 for life-saving cancer research and care at MSK. 100% of your donations are spent on this critical purpose, and, more specifically, on rare and pediatric cancers. We've done an amazing job so far, but there is still so much more work to be done. So here I am, just a boy, standing in front of all of you, asking you to continue (and if you can, even increase) your support of this incredibly worthy cause. Help me imagine a world without cancer!!!
A brief recap on the running side: the quest started with the NYC Marathon in 2017 (and 2018 and 2019); took a pause for Covid in 2020; picked up again with the Chicago Marathon in 2021; then back to NYC in 2022 and 2023; and in 2024, the quest went global to the Tokyo and Berlin Marathons. The next stop will be London in April 2025. Why these races you might ask? Well, these races (plus Boston, which I hope to run in 2026) comprise the coveted six Abbott World's Major Marathons. It's kind of a big deal to run these races, and an even bigger deal to run them all. But even more importantly, they help switch things up and keep things interesting, and thereby help me tell a compelling and hopefully entertaining story that (I think) aids in garnering your support.
Finally, while I obviously run with Fred's Team, I call myself the "Dead Moms Run Club" - it's kind of an elite unit that, God willing, none of you will ever join. You may find the name brash or even in poor taste, but it comes from a good place of trying to flip a really big negative into a positive as best as I can. I also think it's pretty cool.
Anyway, let's do this!! Maximum effort!
