In Memory of Karla Layden

Karla lost her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but thanks to her writing her star still guides many. She was an active participant in Memorial Sloan Kettering’s “Visible Ink” program, which offers patients the opportunity to express themselves in writing with the individual support of an experienced writing mentor. While Visible Ink operates under the aegis of MSK, its sole funding is through grants and donations.
The young wonderer in Karla’s book asks, “Must everything start out important to be important or can something become important ?” Even a donation that seems unimportant, added to other donations, becomes important.
If you have enjoyed Karla’s book, Just a Very Little Story for the Week Before Christmas, I hope you will make a donation here to help Karla’s star shine even more brightly.
