Kelly Blum
In December 2023, we lost my uncle, a second dad to me, to a 5 year battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer over a decade and a half ago, treated and kicked the nasty bugger, only to have it come back in his bladder and then later his liver too. When they caught it 5 years ago, the doctors said it was a terminal diagnosis. He defied the odds for 5 whole years - a true positivity warrior and a remarkable role model for so many that have struggled with cancer during his last few years with us. In addition to this, my best friend was recently diagnosed with stage-2 breast cancer - she too, is a true warrior and is kicking its butt! I hope to raise money and run in the NYC Marathon in honor of both of them - to remember them, support them and give a platform to all of those that are struggling, winning, losing and/or are uncertain with cancer. My goal is to raise as much as I can to support groundbreaking research at MSK Cancer Center and your donation will give me a boost as I train for my race!
