Kevin Malarkey
Hi Everyone, I’m running the 2024 Berlin Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). This will be my 15th marathon, and my 12th in memory of Tessa Prothero. I had the honor of meeting Tessa in 2015 while she was in treatment at MSK and that single day literally changed my life. Tessa was a spunky, happy kid who, despite stage 4 neuroblastoma, lived life to its fullest. For two years, I followed her life through her parent's social media channels, but, tragically, in 2017, she was taken too soon from us at 9 years old. Since that day, I have dedicated my miles to support life-saving neuroblastoma research at MSK and honor Tessa's memory.
So this September, I will once again be proudly wearing my orange Fred's Team shirt with the words "Live Like Tessa" written on it. Live life to the fullest like she did.
