GIVING MEANING TO MY MILES

I’m taking on the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). My goal is to raise as much as I can to support groundbreaking cancer research at MSK.

I signed up to run with Freds Team with family and friends in mind who have battled cancer. I had no idea how personal this goal would become when only five days later I would be diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer and myself become a patient at MSK. As a 22 year old it was the last thing I was expecting. I have seen first hand how cancer upends daily life and how difficult this disease is not only for patients, but especially family and friends.

Through this experience I have witnessed first hand the top-rate care at MSK. Through countless blood tests to CT scans, surgeries, and chemo therapy, I have seen the true passion the MSK staff bring to caregiving and the way in which they providing support and empathy during truly difficult life experiences.

My experience with MSK has left me with more determination for fund raising then ever before from seeing in my own situation and especially others how truly terrible this disease is and how impactful these donations are to real patients like myself. Money donated to MSK is an investment in the future that leads to life-saving advancements in treatments that could one day go towards your life or that of your partner, children or friends. No one is immune from this disease and the best way to fight is by supporting the people who have made it there life goal to one day see a world that is cancer free.
