Emma Ecklin
I’m taking on the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team, the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). My goal is to raise as much as I can to support groundbreaking cancer research at MSK, and your donation will give me a boost as I train for my race.
Every stride I take in my running is a tribute to my mom, who faced cancer with unmatched courage at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She passed away in 2018.
Running for me, often a solitary pursuit, echoes those isolated moments of grief that accompany the loss of a loved one. In the rhythmic cadence of my strides, I've discovered solace and healing in the emotional waves I encountered during my mother's fight against cancer and her devasting passing.
Having run with Fred’s Team, I found a purposeful way to harness the strength and determination inherited from my mother's fight. This upcoming marathon will mark my second.
The funds I can raise become a lifeline for ongoing research, innovative treatments, and the relentless pursuit of a future where cancer is no longer a formidable adversary. I appreciate your support!
