The Linda W. Daniel Foundation

The Linda W. Daniel Foundation (LWDF) is a nonprofit organization committed to cancer prevention. We create unique programs designed to challenge the athlete in you to fight cancer today. We understand a commitment to prevention won't guarantee a life without cancer, but every step we take is a step in the right direction.

LWDF was founded on the belief that the end of cancer begins with prevention. Instead of focusing on what we don't have - a cure, we help people utilize what we already know and help bring the fight to cancer. LWDF is registered as a nonprofit and is a 501(c)(3) organization under federal tax guidelines.

LWDF was created to remember and honor Linda Daniel who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1995 and lost her fight in 2000. Linda served as an athletic trainer at The Ohio State University (OSU) from 1975 until her untimely death. Linda became a student athletic trainer at OSU in 1971 and worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Co-Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Rehabilitation Services for the Department of Athletics, all while completing her master's degree in physical therapy at OSU. Additionally, she had extensive international experience in women's basketball and was involved in numerous national and local athletic training organizations.

A strong voice in helping to advance student trainer education, Linda was always ready to lend an ear and a kind word to help heal both the physical and emotional injuries to an incalculable number of student athletes and student athletic trainers. One of the greatest things a person can do with their talents is to share them with others and Linda dedicated her life to doing just that. She set an example for any person who wants to follow his or her dreams. She started out in 1971 with a dream and a lot of drive, and through her hard work and persistence; she paved the way for those who will follow her. She was a mother, friend, teacher, leader and a role model for generations to come.

There is no cure for cancer and until there is we must unite against a disease that kills more people each year than any other. We believe it's our responsibility to remember those who have passed, to support the courageous individuals in the fight of their lives, and to honor the many who have overcome.

Just as Linda W. Daniel shared her talents to make a difference, and dedicated her time to educate and help others, you too can make an impact. Donations in any amount are welcomed and appreciated! 100% of the proceeds will be contributed to The Lee Jones Lab, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Lee Jones, an exercise scientist, along with his team, concentrates on the effectiveness and mechanisms of exercise training on cardio vascular toxicities and tumor initiation and its progression as well as the efficacy and mechanisms of nonlinear, targeted exercise treatment to improve recurrence and cancer-specific survival (
