In Loving Memory of Carol Fantauzzi
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother/Mima, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt (fondly known as Aunt Kiki), cousin, and friend. Carol Fantauzzi, left us on October 4th, 2024 at the age of 59 after a 2 month difficult but courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Carol was surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, son, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law in her final moments, a testament to the life she lived – one filled with care, warmth, and love for those closest to her.
Carol was born on July 2, 1965 in Cornwall, New York, and raised in the Bronx, New York where she met the love of her life, Joseph Fantauzzi, in 1983 and subsequently married in 1988. Together they built a life rooted in faith, kindness, and family values. As a devoted wife for 36 years, she stood by Joe through all of life’s challenges and triumphs.
As a mother to Stephanie and Joseph, Carol was the embodiment of patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. She, along with her husband, raised her children with grace, teaching them the importance of compassion, integrity, and togetherness. Carol’s influence was not limited to her immediate family; she and her husband extended these values to their nephew, Christopher, who lived with them for a few years and was considered to be a second son. She further served as a motherly figure and role model to her son/daughter-in-law, and a confidant and support to all of her nieces, nephews, and their children. But perhaps her most valued role was as Mima to Arya and Andi, showering them with affection and creating countless cherished memories.
Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her loved ones. Whether it was just hanging out in the back yard or celebrating the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, she made every moment special, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. She had a personality that was magnetic and drew everyone close to her, leaving them feeling energized with every interaction.
Carol is survived by her husband, her children, their spouses, grandchildren, sisters, brother/sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins; and the countless lives she’s touched with her warmth and kindness.
Her passing leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
Rest in peace, Carol. You will forever be missed, but your love and legacy live on.
