Katy Miele
I’m running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon in honor of my mom, Crissy Miele, who passed away from breast cancer in 2010.
My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer when she was 29 years old and pregnant with my younger brother, Will. Despite her prognosis, she fought hard and lived another 12 years.
My mom was a big advocate for breast cancer research and dedicated to helping others. I'm running to honor her legacy and support efforts to promote education and advance research, with the hope that we will one day find a cure.
I'm also running in honor of my uncle, Brad Smith, who passed away from brain cancer in 2023. Brad always offered a hand to those in need, especially my siblings and me. Most importantly, he taught me how to enjoy a good beer.
100% OF YOUR DONATION SUPPORTS RESEARCH
Fred’s Team is the official running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), where my mom was treated.
All proceeds raised will go towards cancer research and treatment.
Fred's Team was named in honor of New York City Marathon co-founder and MSK patient Fred Lebow. Since 1995, Fred’s Team participants have raised over $110 million. 100% of funds raised go directly into MSK labs, where doctors and scientists have expertise in more than 400 types of cancer and work every day to find new cures.
Thank you!
Katy
