Hazel Friedlander, is a wide-eyed, smiley little girl who instantly melts the heart of anyone she meets. Around her second birthday (June, 2023), Hazel was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), a rare blood cancer that attacks the body's systems and can cause lesions on bones and other organs. LCH affects 5 in 1 million children. In the short time since her LCH diagnosis, Hazel has shown fierce bravery. Her happiness and calm are contagious, endearing her to the doctors and nurses at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK). MSK has become a safe place for Hazel and her family. Despite everything Hazel has been through, biopsies, chemotherapy, MRI and CAT scans Hazel’s infectious laugh and smile still shines through.
In the last few months her family has learned that cancer research is crucial to finding new ways to treat rare cancers such as Hazel’s LCH. Hazel is currently part of a trial at MSK. This trial will help doctors better understand treatments for Hazel’s LCH. Help us raise funds for MSK to help children like Hazel and join Hazel Strong for cycle survival on March 2, 2024!

TOGETHER, WE WILL BEAT RARE CANCERS.
Welcome to our team’s fundraising page! We’re taking part in Cycle for Survival to raise money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).
Cycle for Survival is the movement to beat rare cancers. Since 2007, this community has channeled its passion into this lifesaving cause and provided crucial funding to MSK doctors and scientists in pursuit of bold new ways to treat — and cure — people with a rare cancer.
Will you help us make an impact? Your support will make so much possible.
Here’s how you can make a difference:
Join our team. Ride and fundraise with us to give people with a rare cancer hope for a better future. No cycling experience is necessary!
Donate today. 100% of every dollar you give will go directly to innovative research and clinical trials, accelerating progress and benefiting people not just at MSK but worldwide.
Thank you!
