Welcome!Volunteer with Dog

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm.

**Please note this form is for our traditional Volunteer Program, with a recommended commitment for an average of one 2-4 hour shift each week.  If you are looking for a shorter-term volunteer commitment or community service opportunity, please click here for our Community Service program  and do not proceed with filling out this form.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer onsite, per our liability insurance.  We do have other programs for younger volunteers, including Family Service Day and our Junior Volunteer Program.  Please click here to learn more about our children’s volunteer opportunities and to register.

The MSPCA requires a Work Permit or Education Certificate for volunteers under 18. You will be expected to turn in the permit the day of your orientation.

Most volunteers will average from 2-4 hours, one day a week, on a designated day and time slot scheduled by the volunteer coordinator. Volunteer opportunities are available seven days a week. Volunteer shifts start as early as 7 a.m. and end between 4 and 6 p.m. depending on the day.

Before you can start your volunteer position, you are required to attend a mandatory new volunteer orientation. Below are the next available orientation dates. Please select the date you would like to attend.

Please Note: If you are interested in becoming a dog walker, you are required to participate in a Sunday orientation offering. Cat, small mammal and barn volunteers are welcome to participate in either a weeknight or weekend orientation offering.

We would like all of the volunteers to be easily identified by members of the public during their volunteer shift. This $20 fee will provide you with a new MSPCA Volunteer t-shirt and name badge.  If you are not able to pay the $20 on-line, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, at nevinsvolunteer@mspca.org for more information.

We offer orientations twice per month.  If you do not see a date below for a monthly orientation, it may have filled.  New dates are added regularly - please check back often.
