Monadnock Building Facade Model
Chicago's Monadnock building with its flared base and top and jutting bay windows is one of the world's most distinctive skyscrapers. Designed by Burnham and Root in 1891, it remains to this day the tallest commercial iron framed building with a load-bearing masonry exterior. Its striking design makes it one of the finest remaining examples of the Chicago School of Architecture. This architectural sculpture of the north side facade was handcrafted by the duo Chisel & Mouse in their studio in Sussex, England. It is made of strong plaster that has a reassuring weight and smooth, cool feel. See more work from Chisel & Mouse here.
