Picasso Sculpture Postcard--Build Your Own Chicago
Pablo Picasso never visited Chicago, but thanks to the efforts of architect William Hartmann, he donated this sculpture as a "gift to the people of Chicago". Unveiled in 1967 to initial local skepticism, this unique modernist centerpiece of Daley Plaza has become a recognizable and friendly symbol of the city to tourists from around the world. This card includes all pieces and instructions necessary to make a complete paper model at 1:200 scale, approx. 2.75" tall. All the cards in the Build Your Own Chicago series are mailable postcards, with space on the reverse for a stamp and address and a message. Each card also includes a short but informative description of the landmark the model represents. Instructions are included in the form of multi-lingual isometric diagrams. There is also a Build Your Own New York series.
