vase-tiffany-magnolia-window.JPGLouis C. Tiffany Magnolia Window Expandable Vase

This expandable vase does everything a glass vase does except collect dust, chip or break.  Available in a variety of designs, these plastic vases are durable and stable enough to hold a flower bouquet. They’re ideal for events, weddings, and any table top--collapsible and economical, making it easy to keep a variety of colors and patterns tucked away for any occasion.  Made of BPA free plastic the vase measures 10.25” x 6.25”.  The vase stores flat.  Just pour water into the vase to expand.

Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933) used drapery glass to create natural-looking magnolia petals and employed the lead lines as part of the window design, creatively incorporated as the twigs and branches of the tree.  Tiffany designers, working from studies of flowers in various stages of bloom, took great care to render nature realistically.  This lovely vase is inspired by three leaded glass window panels in the collection of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, in Winter Park, Florida. The panels originally graced the library of Tiffany’s 72nd Street home in New York City and later the dining room of his Long Island estate, Laurelton Hall, serving as a transition between indoors and outdoors bringing inside the flowering magnolias Tiffany loved so much.
