Tell Congress:
Set High Expectations
for Our Kids

  • Congress is now rewriting the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind (ESEA/NCLB).

  • As Congress rewrites the law, it must maintain high expectations for students with learning and attention issues. Congress must help prepare students to graduate from high school, ready to succeed in college or in a career.

  • The law must also provide for early identification of learning and attention issues, as well as teacher training and resources for the classroom.

TAKE ACTION

Use the form below to tell your members of Congress: Please set high expectations for and prioritize the needs of the 1 in 5 students with learning and attention issues as you rewrite ESEA/NCLB.

ESEA/NCLB: Set High Expectations for Students With Learning and Attention Issues

Dear [Decision Maker],

Congress is now rewriting the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind (ESEA/NCLB). As Congress rewrites the law, it must prioritize the needs of the 1 in 5 children in the United States who struggle with learning and attention issues. This group includes students with learning disabilities, ADHD and other challenges. That's more than 15 million individuals ages 3 to 20.

I urge you and all members of Congress to pass a new ESEA/NCLB that sets high expectations for and supports the success of children with learning and attention issues. I look forward to receiving your response.

Sincerely,
