Mark and his family have been members of the New England Aquarium for several years. It was Mark's young son who told him he needed to run his first Boston Marathon® on behalf of the New England Aquarium.
As the father of four children, I have been a frequent
visitor to the Aquarium. We have long held a family membership and are
consistently impressed by the quality and variety of the exhibits. This past
summer my son, Zack, attended the Aquarium’s “Crazy
Crustaceans” camp and continues to talk fondly of his experience.
Although I have been a casual runner all my life, I did not
discover distance running until 5 years ago. Since my first half marathon in
2008, I have completed several races ranging from 8K to 30K. In 2011, I
completed my first marathon in New York City as part of a charity team.
I have always dreamed about running the Boston Marathon and
am excited to be part of the Aquarium team.
The New England Aquarium is an official charity of the 118th Boston Marathon. Funds raised by our runners will support hands-on, interactive outreach programs that reach 45,000 children in diverse communities every year. Through your generosity, Aquarium educators will inspire young children to learn about and protect the world’s oceans.
