Jordan Klepper, host of Comedy Central’s “The Opposition w/ Jordan Klepper,” appears at the Newseum to discuss his daily late-night series and his longstanding focus on common-sense gun reform. As host, Klepper has interviewed Parkland student-survivors and other student activists, spoken to educators with military training about arming teachers, traveled to CPAC to interview conservative activists, and much more. Prior to becoming host, Klepper starred in his own one-hour special, “Jordan Klepper Solves Guns,” addressing gun reform, and previously starred in field pieces on gun issues for “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.”

“The Opposition w/ Jordan Klepper,” which debuted in Sept., 2017, satirizes the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left.

The Associated Press calls the show “bitterly funny and right on target at a time when everything is in ugly dispute, especially reality.” Salon writes, “With less than a year on air, ‘The Opposition’…is already a critical part of the satire landscape.”

The Newseum program will also feature clips from the series which airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Before becoming host of “The Opposition,” Klepper was a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.” He joined “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in 2014 after years as a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. In June of 2017, his one-hour special “Jordan Klepper Solves Guns” premiered on Comedy Central and focused on the alarming legal obstacles and enlightening personal testimony surrounding the issue of gun violence in America.
