Tell Congress: Continue the Fight for Reform

On Thursday, February 25, the White House will host a summit that will bring leaders from both parties together and seek to put health care reform back on track. The summit will be broadcast live on C-SPAN. Lawmakers will discuss a plan released this week by President Obama that would put families and small businesses in control of their health. You can read the plan here. It includes key provisions that were contained in health reform plans passed by the House and Senate last year and proposes giving the government the ability to block huge increases in insurance rates.

The reform plans passed by the House and the Senate would cover most uninsured Americans while holding down costs and improving the quality of care we all receive. Access to mental health care and substance use treatment would be greatly expanded and significant steps would be taken to improve coordination between behavioral health and general health care.

Your voice is crucial to moving reform forward.

Tell your Senators and Representative that they need to continue the fight for reform and complete action on an overhaul of the system.

Dear [Decision Maker],

I urge you to continue the fight for health care reform.

*

It's time to stop insurers from denying coverage for conditions people were unfortunate enough to have before they signed up for coverage. We need to lower costs, improve quality, and recognize the importance of mental health and substance use treatment and services, all of which are addressed in the bills already passed by the House and Senate. I urge to finish the job and pass health care reform legislation.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
