It's Time for a Final Rule on Parity: Contact Your Representative--
Urge Them to Sign onto the Sullivan-Ryan Letter

Although the Paul  Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) was enacted nearly four years ago, a final rule to implement the law has still not been issued by the federal government.

A final rule is critical to ensuring that the law is fully enforced and operational and individuals have access to essential mental health and addiction services.

Reps. John Sullivan (R-Okla.) and Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), who are co-chairs of the Addiction, Treatment & Recovery Caucus, are circulating a letter that calls on the three departmental Secretaries (Labor, Health and Human Services, and Treasury) to issue a final rule so the MHPAEA is fully implemented and individuals can access critical mental health and addiction services.

Urge your Representative to sign onto the Sullivan-Ryan letter by the Deadine of October 5.
