In the past, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provided funding for people with mental health and substance use conditions to attend Mental Health America's Annual Conference. Our conferences have educated, informed and empowered those consumer attendees, who learn and disseminate critical information to statewide consumer groups. Scholarships for this year's conference were approved in February, and we have received over 100 scholarship applications and counting.
Now, due to sequestration, SAMHSA was forced to cancel scholarships to events like ours, and we're seeking your help. Your generous financial support will help deserving mental health consumers attend this important conference.
Won't you or your organization support this remarkable and deserving group of people by donating one or more scholarships to this year's MHA conference? Here's what your contribution provides your sponsored mental health consumer:
Attendees listen to a speaker at our 2009 conference.
Recent events in Sandy Hook and the aftermath of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan make it imperative that these vital stakeholders be part of the national conversation on mental health and wellness. Please help now!
$500 covers the full cost of registration for one consumer to attend the Conference and the Limelight Benefit.
$1,000 covers registration for the conference and the benefit, as well as transportation.
$2,000 covers full hotel, transportation and registration for a consumer to attend the conference and the Limelight benefit.
For $5,000, you can cover multiple scholarship recipients--and receive recognition as a Bronze Level sponsor.
Any amount helps!
