At Northwestern Memorial, the Emergency Department is the hub and heartbeat of our hospital, serving more than 90,000 patients in need per year. These patients come to us during their greatest times of physical, emotional and financial distress. Many have no health insurance, but, regardless of their ability to pay, we provide them with the highest quality and most compassionate care possible.
While giving them comfort, care and attention, we often find that these patients are also in desperate need of daily living items we take for granted, including coats, shoes, underwear, personal hygiene kits and access to medical supplies. It is our hope that, by providing them with these items before they exit our care, we will ensure a safe discharge from the hospital and help them to be better prepared for the outside elements and the everyday lives to which they have to return.
Become a valued partner by making a significant and positive difference for the most vulnerable populations in our community.
