A powerful community coming together for a night of fun, fashion and fundraising in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada.
Earlier this year Ovarian Cancer Canada launched a fabulous general awareness campaign called Ladyballs (www.ovariancanada.org/got-ladyballs). Ladyballs advertisements showcase women in everyday situations having courage, grit, strength and tenacity. Did you know that ovarian cancer kills 5 Canadian women every day? Did you know that ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer in Canada? Did you know that there is no reliable test for this disease? In fact, outcomes haven’t changed much in the last 50 years. It’s a downright injustice and you can help do something about it!
An inspired group of volunteers in Halifax are organizing a fundraising event called The Lady Ball on September 15th at The Westin Nova Scotian. In support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, The Lady Ball will showcase people from our community who have grit, tenacity, strength and courage. Local female leaders who have ‘ladyballs’ and men who support our community will walk the catwalk in a fashion show featuring clothing and accessories from local businesses. The event will be like no other in Halifax!
