It's time to bring the Paycheck Fairness Act to a vote
Dear Congressional Leaders,
Women deserve and need fair pay. Women's wages are absolutely essential to families, communities and our economy. Yet, even today, women who work full-time, year-round in the United States are typically paid only 80 cents for every dollar paid to men. Black women are paid 63 cents and Latinas just 54 cents for every dollar paid to white men. White women are paid 75 cents, and Asian women are paid 85 cents, for every dollar paid to white men, with some ethnic subgroups of Asian women faring much worse. The Paycheck Fairness Act is critical legislation that would close loopholes and help combat and undo discriminatory pay practices. It's a reasonable, common sense policy and its passage should be a priority. That's why 40 senators and almost 200 representatives and have signed on as co-sponsors.It's time to prioritize fair pay and make wage discrimination a thing of the past. Please bring the Paycheck Fairness Act to a vote.
