Don't deport young immigrants. Pass the DREAM Act instead!

Dear Member of Congress,

In a mean-spirited attack to appease his most extreme supporters, President Trump has decided to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

That means hundreds of thousands of young people could be deported -- young people who came to the United States as children and who had been granted temporary protection from deportation, allowing them to come out of the shadows and live, study and work in the only country most have ever called home.

I urge you to stand strong and protect these young immigrants. They embody the American dream -- 95 percent are working or in school and they contribute greatly to our country and help make it strong. DACA recipients are students, teachers, nurses and volunteers. They serve in the military and are part of the fabric of our communities.

They do not deserve to be treated as second-class citizens or to be denied equal opportunity and the chance to succeed.

That's why we need you to pass the DREAM Act today!

Sincerely,
